Downtown Nature Team Meet-Up
Join us to discuss how to incorporate more nature into our Downtown through new plantings, placemaking projects, and programming.
HDP has long prioritized bringing more naturescaping to Downtown Hillsboro. From student-designed gardens to water-wise planter boxes, we emphasize supporting native wildlife, pollinators, and honoring our connection with our neighbors at Jackson Bottom Wetland Preserve as well as Hillsboro's historic connection to agriculture and natural resources. Most recently, with the help of Pacific University student intern, Emily Kresin, we have designed a new way to collect data with community science, helping us to update the city's Downtown tree inventory for the first time in years.
We are looking for new and exciting ideas to bring even more native habitat and environmental programming to Downtown. Through this meeting, we hope to open up the doors for community-driven conversations around our environment and natural resources and how we can continue to improve on the way we approach nature in the urban environment.
We hope you will join us on July 26th from 5:30-7:30pm with refreshments to discuss our ideas and initiatives and to offer your own insight and ideas to bring even more nature to Downtown.
